TeleToyland is Now iPhone and iPad Compatible

The TeleToyland projects are now compatible with browsers that do not have Java. The site will auto-detect the absence of Java and switch to a JavaScript refresh instead. This will allow smartphones like the iPhone to use the robots.

TeleToyland Sandbox Now Has a Wipeout Command

By popular demand, we've added a new command to the TeleToyland Sandbox. The Wipeout button will appear after 30 minutes of idle time on the project, and, when clicked, will clear out the sandbox of previous drawings.

Mechanical Frogger

The TeleToyland Sandbox provided some inspiration to a team of college students at the University of Michigan. Their project is a mechanical version of the classic video game "Frogger". They constructed it with stepper motors instead of servos to get full rotation and easier calibration for linear movement. Great work, guys - a fun project! We created an Instructable on how the Sandbox XY Table was built, and it made the home page for a week, and the weekly email. We also added a YouTube video of the Sandbox in action.

We've added a new robot to the Other Web Robots gallery - BP Explorer. The BP Eplorer site lets you drive one of 5 Surveyor SRV-1 robots in a very nice layout. There is a great Flash interface for queueing up to drive the robots.

Marble Maze Pictured in Robot Magazine

The TeleToyland Marble Maze appears in the September/October 2008 issue of Robot Magazine. It's on page 35 of the issue in the picture of the RoboRealm software - we loaned it to the RoboRealm team for the show.

New Web Robot Added to Gallery: RatSLAM Robot Controller

We've added a new robot to the Other Web Robots gallery - RatSLAM. At The University of QLD, Australia, you can drive the robot in a lab. The robot is semi-autonomous, so you can click on places for the robot to drive to, and the robot will figure out how to drive there without running into obstacles & people. The robot can also recharge its own batteries by looking for its battery charger and plugging itself in.

We've added a new robot to the Other Web Robots gallery - TeleOperated.com. On this site, you can control two Rokenbok vehicles and an autonomous gripper that can retrieve a red ball.

The TeleToyland Rolling Ball Machine allows you to control the path of marbles as they fall down ramps and slides. There are three ramps you can control, and you can also turn the ball lift on and off.

TeleSkeleton NEW Advanced Interface
